North Texas Self Storage is dedicated to providing you with the best possible customer service. Below are the answers to many of our customers’ most common questions. If your questions are not answered here, please feel free to contact your nearest facility and speak to one of our Storage Professionals.

A. We offer month to month leases, meaning no long term contracts and no commitment.
A. Our facilities have gate access 7 days a week. Office and access hours vary by location. Please visit the location nearest you for office and access hours.
A. We require 10 days written notice to move out. Full details on the vacating policy will be provided for you at the time of move-in.
A. We do not offer a mover, but our location in Lewisville offers access to free moving trucks. Please contact the on-site facility manager for more details.
A. Payments can be processed by mail or in person. You may also arrange to have payments automatically charged to your credit card. Please ask your on-site manager about this feature.
A. We have a wide variety of unit sizes to meet you needs. See our chart showing how to estimate the size unit you will need. Unit sizes and prices vary by location. Please contact a facility near you for available sizes and prices. Additionally, we have no administrative or processing fees and do not require a security deposit.
A. To get started, use our chart showing how to estimate what can be stored in each size unit we offer. Our expert Storage Professionals can assist you in determining the right size. Just give us a brief description of what will be stored and we’ll help you determine how much space is needed.
A. We accept all major credit/debit cards, checks, and cash.
A. No, self storage insurance brochures are available at each location. We do not sell the insurance nor profit from the sale of any insurance policy.
A. Check our “Specials” page for this month’s discounts, or inquire with one of the Storage Professionals at any of our facilities to learn more. Additionally, we have no administrative or processing fees and do not require a security deposit.
A. At the time of move-in rent is pro-rated through the end of the current month. Thereafter all rent is due on the 1st of each month.

A. “On-site manager” means that an employee, usually the Store Manager, lives in an apartment on site as part of the facility. All of our facilities have On-Site Managers for an extra level of security.
A. All of our North Texas Self Storage facilities use video cameras as a security measure. Our cameras are generally located at the point of entry and exit and targeted areas throughout the facility. The number of cameras and the type of system that is installed at each facility varies based on the design of the facility.
A. Our facilities have electronic gate systems which can only be opened by a security code that is assigned to each individual tenant, allowing us to monitor who is entering and exiting the facility.
A. Climate control is a feature that we offer at our Carrollton, Dallas, and Lewisville facilities. Our climate-controlled units maintain a temperature of 55 to 85 degrees to help protect your belongings from the extreme temperatures here in North Texas. You may wish to consider a climate-controlled unit if you wish to store books, wooden furniture, photographs, or other items sensitive to temperature extremes.

Storage & Moving Tips

Make up an inventory of your stored items—or even better, photograph them with a digital camera. Keep this list in a safe place at home or in a safe deposit box.
